Ruth Llana (Asturias, 1990) is the author of tiembla (Point de Lunettes, 2014), winner of the University of Granada “Federico García Lorca” Poetry Prize 2013, the artisanal chapbook estructuras (Ejemplar Único, 2015), in collaboration with artist Gabriel Viñals, and her most recent book umbral (Malasangre, 2017).

Her interests include art, cinema and photography. She has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she writes her thesis and works as Project Assistant at the Creative Writing Program. Her dissertation focuses on the intersections between Visual Studies, Queer Theory, Critical Life Studies and Affect Theory within the Latin American artistic and literary context.

Her translations of the American poet Mei Mei Berssenbrugge have appeared in magazines such as Revista Kokoro and 7de7.
